IPL skin treatments

Also known as “photo facial”, IPL is a technology used for skin rejuvenation.

How does it work?

IPL (Intense Pulse Light) is similar to a Laser. While laser directs just one beam of light at your skin, IPL releases light of many different rays, similar to a phot flash. The light penetrates the skin, turning into heat and is absorbed by the pigment cells, when treating pigmented lesions, and blood cells, when treating vascular lesions. The body’s natural processes then clear the lesion debris, giving the skin a more even and youthful appearance.

At The Healthy Skin Room we sude the Lumenis M22 technology.

Rosacea

Rosacea is a chronic inflammation condition of the face. The cause is still unknown and there isn’t permanent cure. However, we can manage it. It is often associated with dilated capillaries, also known as Telangiectasia.

IPL targets the haemoglobin in blood vessels. This process damages the blood vessel walls, triggering the body’s natural response to eliminate the damaged tissue. New cells are produced, resulting in a clearer and healthier-looking skin.

At The Healthy Skin Room we offer stand-alone IPL treatments for rosacea or combined with topical prebiotic therapy for best reults.

Thread veins

Thread Veins or Spider veins are tiny, dilated blood vessels on the surface of the skin. The clinical name for them is telangiectasia. Thread veins usually develop on the nose, sides of the nose and chin.

With age, our capillary walls become less elastic and weaker. This condition can often be caused by sun exposure, wind exposure, temperature changes, extreme climate, hormonal changes such as during pregnancy and menopause. Or it can be hereditary.

Aging & sun damage

Also known as Photo Rejuvenation, IPL helps to target signs of ageing such as fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, sun spots and dilated capillaries, providing a more even and youthful appearance.

Photo ageing is a biological natural process but it is intensified by sun exposure and other factors such as smoking, glycation (resulting from high a glucose diet), excessive sun exposure and lifestyle. Overtime, this can cause skin laxity, dull complexion, pigmentation, excessive freckling and dilated capillaries.

IPL targets all these different signs of ageing while stimulating the production of collagen in the skin.

Acne

IPL calms acne, by killing the bacteria within the pores and regulating sebum production. Not only it treats acne, but also reduces redness and pigmentation associated with acne, as well as stimulating the production of new collagen.

At The Healthy Skin Room we offer stand-alone IPL treatments or combined with topical prebiotic therapy for best ressults.
